The present legislation on fire safety in buildings obliges and makes responsible the operators / owners to develop and implement measures and fire safety in the buildings or parts of buildings they occupy.
The obligations of the operating entities / owners do not cease in the elaboration and implementation of the measures, since these are obliged to ensure the maintenance of the safety conditions, defined in the project, throughout the time of use of the building.
Knowing the importance and usefulness of fire safety, we carry out Building Fire Safety Audits, in order to verify the safety conditions and suggest corrective and / or improvement actions, Fire Safety Studies and Projects, Self-protection, Awareness-raising, Training and Drills sessions with our clients, with the aim of preventing situations of greater risk in case of fire.
The Self-Protection Measures consist of procedures of organization and management of the security having as principles, the guarantee of the maintenance of the safety conditions defined in the project through a minimum structure of people and equipment of response to emergencies.
The implementation and maintenance of the self-protection measures ensure that fire safety equipment and systems are permanently operational and that in an emergency the occupants can safely leave the premises.
Self-protection measures are not the same in all buildings, they depend on the standard use and the category of risk.
Self-protection measures are based on:
Preventive Measures - Safety Procedures or Prevention Plans
Intervention Measures - Emergency Procedures or Internal Emergency Plans
Security Records - Inspection or Inspection reports, maintenance actions and occurrences
Training - Training actions for employees, employees and first intervention teams
Drills - Test the operationality of the emergency plan, training of occupants and basis for elaboration of improvement and improvement measures.
The Buildings Fire Safety Project (SCIE) is mandatory for all standard uses of 2nd, 3rd and 4th risk categories and Type IV and V uses from 1st to 4th category and can only be prepared by specialists authorized and registered with the ANPC.
The approval of the Building Fire Safety project by the ANPC, is a mandatory condition for obtaining the license to build the building.
These projects contemplate an analysis of the interior, exterior conditions and access to the building. Also being analyzed, among others, the resistance to fire of the elements of construction, the reaction to the fire of the materials, the evacuation, the technical installations, the equipment and security systems.
Fire safety flaws in buildings can translate into heavy losses of tangible or intangible heritage, with death being the most burdensome scenario.
The high costs caused by the non-continuity of the activity, by the repair or replacement of the affected structures, can lead to their disappearance with the consequent loss of jobs and irrecoverable personal and social costs.
The existence of the Fire Safety and Self-Protection Measures alone does not guarantee fire safety in buildings if the process is not properly implemented and accompanied by effective management and ongoing monitoring of its performance.
Building Fire Safety Audits are based on on-site quality benchmarking of fire safety measures and the suggestion of key improvement and improvement measures to make the system the most context and site-specific.
The Fire drill are exercises for the purpose of testing the Emergency Plan and training the occupants in order to create routines and improve procedures, should be properly planned, executed and evaluated with the possible cooperation of local Firefighters and Civil Protection.
The execution of the drills must always be communicated well in advance to the occupants of the building, and the scheduled date or time may not be strictly established.
Frequency of performing drills according to the Use - Type and Risk Category
Note: In type-IV uses, an exercise should always be carried out at the beginning of the school year,
Entities exploring spaces for typical uses shall provide training in fire safety to their employees and collaborators, to all persons exercising professional activity for periods exceeding 30 days per year in such spaces, and to all elements with attributions in the self-protection activities.
We develop and carry out awareness-raising, training and mock-up actions, with the aim of the participants acquiring knowledge and skills, ensuring the general principles of protection of human life and heritage. We familiarize participants with self-protection measures, sensitize them to the fulfillment of preventive measures, transmit them techniques and procedures for issuing warning, evacuation, using the means of first intervention and other procedures to take in case of emergency.
